Fall 2011:

The Ballroom club is back in action for the Fall of 2011! Fresh from a Second Place success at the Spring Intercollegiate Swing Battle, the Ballroom club is pleased to announce the beginning of this season's lessons for all Mines students and faculty. The first meeting will be on Wednesday, September 7th, in the green Center auditorium. Also, be sure to stop by the Ballroom Club's booth at Celebration of Mines on Friday, September 2nd!

Fall 2011 Schedule:

Lessons will start on Wednesday, September 7th.

WEDNESDAYS:

Waltz Lessons
6:00pm-7:30
Blues Dancing Lessons
7:30pm-9:00

Swing Lessons
6:00pm-7:30
Tango Lessons
7:30pm-9:00

Mercury Cafe
Every Thursday, there is dancing upstairs at the Mercury Cafe (downtown 22nd and California) for a $1 cover. The dance is a mix of mostly swing/lindy songs with some blues dance songs that begins at 8 pm and goes until 11 or 12. Street parking is limited, but parking in the lot along the building is only $2.50. This is a great chance to have fun, practice, and the people there are very good about accepting dance requests(girls and guys both). The Mercury Cafe website has a calendar where you can see the impressive array of events held at the venue.

Welcome to the Colorado School of Mines Ballroom Dance Club website.

CSM Ballroom Dance is dedicated to providing the resources for CSM students and faculty as well as members of the Golden community to learn and enjoy the art of dancing.

Every semester we offer a collection of lesson tracks spanning several classic and popular social partner dances including swing, tango, and waltz. In addition we host several dances in town and here on the website provide information about other dances in the Denver Metro area for all our members to enjoy.

The events calendar is kept up to date on the latest in the dance world here in Denver both on campus and across the front range.
